Imagine: you are a student and the classrooms are the only places where you get information, are collaborating, are discovering and being shaped, get your inspiration and are planing for the future. But somewhere outside on the campus or nearby, the nature blooms and is calling you. Doesn't part of the teaching belong outside, connected to the surrounding nature? To this question, Nature Academy responds with a esounding YES: Nature Academy believes in a future where learning mostly takes place outdoors.
Marlies van Hal used to teach indoors for many years and noticed at the end of the day that she was missing the freon air and being outdoors. And she is someone who sport poutdoors intensively. When Covid-19 broke out, she had to nove her classes outdoors and started experimentinmg with check-ins, outdoor brainstorming sessions, podcasts, etc. The experiemced impact of the fresh air & exercise, made het want more! In 2000, she founded Nature Academy having one mission: (even) more fresh air & movement in the education system! Manon Joosten joined the team in 2002. Together, they take (education) professionals and students outdoors: it can be the kickstart of the graduation process for students or a special day teachers are using to reflect.
